Built By Someone Who's Been There
ReApply exists because the job search is broken—and I experienced it firsthand.
Why This Exists
ReApply was born from a simple observation: the job application process is fundamentally broken when qualified people can apply to hundreds of positions and never get a single interview.
I'm John Coleman, and I built ReApply after experiencing firsthand how brutal the modern job search can be. As an entrepreneur for over 25 years, I've built businesses, led teams, and created value. Yet I've also faced multiple extended periods of unemployment—including one that lasted three years and 800 job applications.
Eight hundred applications. Think about that for a moment.
That's 800 times crafting a resume, writing a cover letter, filling out forms, and hoping. It's 800 moments of possibility followed, almost always, by silence. All while trying to support a family, maintain dignity, and keep believing that the next application might be different.
The Founder's Curse
My challenge was particularly acute: I was trying to reenter the traditional job market after years as a founder. I had opted out of the career path, chosen the entrepreneurial route, built things from scratch. But when I needed to return—when financial reality demanded a steady paycheck—I found myself exiled from the very career world I'd left behind.
Employers saw "Founder" and thought "unemployable." They saw "entrepreneur" and assumed "can't work for others." They saw gaps where businesses had failed and wondered what was wrong with me. My real experience—building teams, managing budgets, solving complex problems—was invisible because it wasn't presented in the language of traditional employment.
I wasn't just unemployed. I was lost in translation.
The Hidden Truth
Here's what those 800 applications taught me: it wasn't that I was unqualified. It was that my qualifications were invisible to the systems evaluating me. My resume was being auto-rejected by ATS systems for missing keywords I didn't know mattered. Hiring managers were spending six seconds scanning for things I had but hadn't emphasized correctly. I was competing against people with professional resume writers and career coaches I couldn't afford.
The game wasn't just hard—it was rigged. And I wasn't the only one losing.
Whether you're a founder trying to reenter the workforce, a parent returning after raising children, someone changing careers, or just someone whose experience doesn't fit neat corporate boxes—the system isn't built to see you.
Building the Solution
ReApply is my attempt to un-rig the game. To give every job seeker—regardless of their background, their path, or their ability to pay for professional help—the intelligence and tools that companies use to evaluate them.
This isn't about gaming the system or tricking employers. It's about translation. It's about ensuring qualified people get seen. It's about taking real experience—however unconventional—and presenting it in the language that both machines and humans can recognize.
The Mission
ReApply exists to ensure that no qualified person goes unseen by opportunity.
Every feature, every piece of intelligence, every optimization is designed around a simple belief: your career potential shouldn't be determined by your ability to decode hiring systems, afford expensive help, or fit perfectly into traditional career boxes.
When you use ReApply, you're not just getting software. You're getting a tool built by someone who's been in the trenches, who understands the stakes, and who's committed to helping you get the fair shot you deserve.
What Drives This Work
I know what it's like to:
- Feel like an outsider to your own career field
- Question your worth after months of rejection
- Watch savings disappear while applications disappear into the void
- Translate entrepreneurial experience that employers don't understand
- See your family worry while you maintain optimism
- Feel the system working against you rather than for you
I also know what it's like when things finally click—when your experience is presented correctly, when the right opportunity sees your value, when you get the chance to prove yourself.
That transformation—from invisible to seen, from rejected to considered, from outsider to insider—that's what ReApply is about.
Who This Is Really For
While my story involves the founder-to-employee transition, ReApply is for anyone whose experience doesn't fit neatly into standard boxes:
- Founders and entrepreneurs reentering traditional employment
- Parents returning after focusing on family
- Career changers bringing transferable skills
- Military veterans translating service experience
- Recent graduates with non-traditional backgrounds
- Anyone whose value isn't immediately obvious to automated systems
You have the experience. You have the capability. You deserve the opportunity. ReApply exists to make sure you get it.
The Service We Provide
ReApply is deliberately priced at $1 per application because this isn't about maximizing profit—it's about maximizing access. This is about service. This is about fairness.
Every application submitted through ReApply is a small act of rebellion against a system that too often values conformity over capability. Together, we're making the job market a little more fair, one application at a time.
"The job search shouldn't feel like shouting into the void. You deserve tools that actually help."
— John Coleman, Founder
